About Fronts
Independent, non-partisan coverage of conflict, and the forces behind it.
Our Mission
At Fronts, we aim to make sense of global conflicts, and explore the hidden forces that dictate how those conflicts play out. Our team provides clear, detailed analysis, covering war, diplomacy, intelligence, and defense in collaboration with experts across the globe.
Our Story
Fronts was founded in 2025 by the team behind the YouTube channel WarFronts, and its sister channel HomeFronts.
When our team started WarFronts (then Warographics) years ago, we planned to cover military history, with only occasional discussions of modern wars. Instead, we saw an overwhelming response from our audience when we chose to focus on ongoing conflicts — including ones that most outlets were hardly covering.
Through that experience, we learned that our audience was hungry for detailed foreign-policy coverage, deeper and more informative than what legacy media groups are willing to provide. We found that we could discuss world conflicts with nuance, and take the time to explore under-reported stories, in a way that didn't make our viewers tune out.
Over the last several years, we've turned Warographics into WarFronts, expanded to political coverage via HomeFronts, and finally, invited world-class experts to join us at Fronts. Here, we publish written analysis, deep-dive videos for our premium subscribers, and a growing rotation of podcasts on the Middle East, the Global South, and more.
What We Believe
At Fronts, we believe that traditional and legacy outlets have grossly underestimated their audience. These outlets distill their public-facing analysis into hot takes and arguments meant to be clipped for social media, and when they do publish detailed, valuable investigations, their findings are buried far from the front page. In the process, they've left independent journalists and experts behind, and robbed the audience of their most valuable contributions.
Our team takes a very different approach. We firmly believe that both the intellect, and the attention span of our audience deserves respect. We believe that when global audiences leave legacy media behind, they are choosing to abandon coverage that has reached an insultingly low quality. Most of all, we believe that readers and listeners are perfectly capable of handling complex, detailed stories — but that it's all too rare to find stories that have been treated properly by the outlets that publish them.
For our collaborators and contributors, Fronts is a home for in-depth analysis and under-reported stories. Our editorial team works to ensure that stories are accessible and engaging, without sacrificing their depth, or narrowing the scope of the stories we're trying to tell.
Our team's work is guided by a set of core beliefs:
- Analysis doesn't have to be reductive, to be understood.
- Context makes a story clear, not complicated.
- Nuanced stories are better than neutral stories.
- Pointed stories do not have to be partisan stories.
- Analysis is better when it knows its own bias, than when it pretends to have none.
Our team is proud to draw on, and amplify the work of global journalists, especially from independent voices and front-line reporters in conflict zones across the globe. Our role is to help package and present their work, to ensure that it spreads as widely as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Fronts, and what does it cover?
Fronts is an independent, non-partisan outlet covering modern conflict, defense, intelligence, foreign affairs, and the global arms industry. We aim for depth and context in our work, written to ensure that a curious non-specialist can actually follow along. Fronts provides a combination of free-to-access and premium content, including written articles, video episodes, and podcasts.
How is Fronts different from traditional or legacy media?
At Fronts, our approach rests on the belief that audiences can handle complicated issues, when those issues are explained and presented clearly. We don't accept the premise that serious analysis has to be distilled into soundbites, to get the core message in front of a wider audience. Nor do we accept the idea that deeper analysis is inherently less accessible.
We assume that our audience wants more than a sensationalist headline, or an endless series of six-minute debates broken up by commercials. Everything we publish, we base on a fundamental respect for our audience's intellect, their curiosity, and their willingness to spend time with stories that earn their attention.
Is Fronts really non-partisan? What does that mean?
Yes: Fronts is non-partisan, in the sense that we're not affiliated with or aligned to any party, movement, or ideology. We take no money from political parties, advocacy or interest groups, or donors with an agenda.
That does not mean that Fronts, or our partner projects, pursue "both-sides" neutrality for its own sake. At Fronts, our objective is to present analysis based fully on a factually accurate understanding of global affairs. We seek to faithfully represent reality.
At times, work like ours can be politically inconvenient for some partisan actors, and politically advantageous for others. While our team at Fronts works to recognize and name those dynamics as they emerge, we do not allow those dynamics to compromise our work or dilute our conclusions.

What's your editorial process?
Every piece is edited for structure, accuracy, and clarity before publication. We prioritize original reporting and transparent sourcing, and our editorial team is focused on both the accuracy and the presentation of that reporting.
Do you use AI in your content?
Our Fronts team, and our team at WarFronts and HomeFronts, strictly prohibits the publication of AI-written work and bans the direct use of AI to create articles or scripted content. We also ban the use of AI-summarized information to replace primary research, sourcing, or analytical judgment. We do permit the responsible use of AI to assist with mechanical tasks, including digital proofreaders, data aggregation tools, and collaborative writing aids, but never to write or research content directly.
